Happy Birthday Princess! Today is 10/19/13 and you turned 0!
This is how amazing life is...You were born on Sweetest day, Shabbat, and you're a full moon baby that just missed a lunar eclipse. The stars were aligned for your arrival. You came in to this world with a beaming light of the most wonderful energy I've ever experienced in my life. You stole my heart the first time I laid eyes on you. When the Dr. held you up and I saw your face, my heart melted. That moment was so blissful and I will remember that feeling for the rest of my life.
Your mom and I can't express how much we love you and how much you mean to us. You are truly an angel who has been sent from heaven. Mom and I hope all your dreams come true. Your life is just beginning and we couldn't be more excited to help guide you and support you through your journey. You've been on this earth with us for 24 hours and it has been the best 24 hours of our lives. You are the sweetest little baby and the best gift we've ever received! Elexis, we love you so much.
Your name, Elexis, starts with an E - named after my mom, Ellen. Even though you will never have the chance to meet your grandma (my mom) in person, her spirit and energy will live through you. She would have spoiled you rotten with love and kisses. Your grandma (my mom) loved babies and I know she is going to watch over you from heaven and make sure that you'll always be happy, inspired and protected. She is smiling down on you and I know she's elated.
As day one wraps up at Prentice Women's Hospital in downtown Chicago, all I can think about is how much love you'll receive from me, mom, family and friends. You had so many visitors, including your grandma silky who helped deliver you and spent so much time helping out me and mom. Grandpa Hal and GG, Uncle Mike, Uncle Tom and Auntie Lauren P. saw you hours after you were born. They all love you so much, too. You'll learn more about Uncle Mike, but you are his lucky charm for all of his football picks - so keep it up! You had so many people check in on you today. From phone calls, texts, emails, Facebook, Tweets and Instagram messages, everyone thinks you are simply perfect.
Here's something funny: I changed your diapers (mind you this is the first time I've ever done that) today and it was a blast! I learned how to swaddle you so you can feel warm and secure. Our friends came and visited you today and they love you so much. Mom and I are so excited for your future and no matter what you can always count on us having your back.
Love you to pieces princess!
Mom and Dad!
