Spending my morning promoting our Kickstarter campaign and just sent out an email to all of our previous attendees (audience members) a 50% discount code to our next LIVE taping, which takes place on June 27 at Stage 773 - most of the details are the same, except for we want to start right at 8pm and have everyone seated ready to rock 'n roll at 8.
I am so stoked for our next show because I am such a big fan of music and I know there are so many music fans out there. Music triggers many emotionally feelings simply depending on the track. Some of the feelings you can feel when listening to a particular song is nostalgia happiness, party mode, sad, frustration, confusion and many other adjectives describing one's emotional musical journey.
Todd Kessler and April Henry are two amazing artists and their stories and music will inspire you, but we have some fun little surprises we are working on now to really get the fans engaged in to what we're doing.
We have an internal team meeting today to look at our previous show footage and to see what we like and dislike so we can improve our post-production quality moving forward. When working on a very constraint budget, we don't have the luxury to edit and to roll back tape LIVE during the show, which most network shows do have, but we will get there - I am confident and optimistic (hopeful) about it.
I'm really hoping we can leave that meeting with a lot of substance so we can take our new thoughts and implement them in to our next shows. When running a production with 3 cameras, an audio guy and theater lighting/sound, we have a lot to consider and we are a very thin team of people and can't make immediate decisions because it takes some time for our editor to create an actual episode from one of our shows. Today, we will conquer and learn!
We watched the first three LIVE taping episodes and realized we have a great product, but our production needs some work. There are some silly mistake and some more serious mistakes, but the good news is we can fix what needs to be fixed - we really need to ensure our audio sounds much better.
Back to promoting our Kickstarter campaign - I know we can raise the money to go out to LA and secure great content, but it's really a pain in the ass to try and convince people to put $5 in to our project. I don't like persistently reminding people about our project, but I guess I need to be passive and agressive at the same time for people see the message and work it entails to get this project funded.
Just finished working out with Lindsay and got off a call with the Associate Director from Rock for Kids. Rock For Kids provides music education to underserved children in Chicago, sparking creativity and passion, teaching critical thinking, supporting academic achievement and enriching young lives. They are now the official charity partner for our LIVE taping at the end of the month. If you love music, inspiration and cool stories, make sure you get your tickets to our next LIVE taping!
Got a text from my friend saying that a beverage company might be interested in sponsoring our trip to LA. That would be the dopest and most refreshing news of today. All we have is right now and we might as well enjoy the moment. My moment is writing right now and putting my energy in to this particular sentence. So much more fun to come. Stay tuned...
