Late Night Thoughts - I Live That Life

The
This is not my life, this is life period. We all live that life.

Whether you're a full-time employee or an aspiring entrepreneur, there are struggles that come with work. The difficulties come with the territory. From money to dealing with cliques at work, there are stressors for everyone. This life can take a toll on you emotionally and most certainly financially. For the entrepreneur,  people enjoy being independent, not having to go through so many channels of approvals and those who are lucky enough to find their business passion can feel very fulfilled personally. I know too many people that LOVE what they do and money seems to always follows their passion. It doesn't happen overnight, but these people are committed to living that life. Living the life of sacrifice... No matter if you are 9-5 or an entrepreneur, we all sacrifice something.

Life is filled with unknowns and obstacles, but being cool with going with the flow is only way to go. You can alleviate so much pressure and anxiety by being open to what the universe offers us on a daily basis. Everyday we can get distracted from the outside influences and that's ok. Take some time to realize that the outside distractions are only distractions and remind yourself to get back on your path.

Ignore the nay-sayers and never compromise. Values are important not only for ourselves, but other people respect you for truly believing in something and standing behind your beliefs. If you are on a path of personal discovery, your time will come - so don't give up.

I live the life of reality and sharing whatever knowledge I have with others that are interested in absorbing it. People respect my hustle because I'm out there grinding and trying to live the life I want. This life is all we have, so ensure you make decisions based on your heart and not your wallet. Commit yourself to your mission. Easier said than done, but no regrets.... We all live that life.

All love,
Scott Emo

Vegas: All Access

I just returned from my Vegas extravaganza and I came back to the Chi in one piece -- hallelujah Hov. It was a trip that I won't forget. I'm in start-up mode and that means I'm on full-blast hustle and Vegas was nothing short of a grind. I went to Vegas with our new show called "The Weigh In" to cover the Mayweather Vs. Alvarez fight. Check it out: www.YouTube.com/TheWeighInTV

Mayweather is a show-stopper. Everywhere he goes (in public) creates a spectacle. Everyone wants a picture, video cameras are following him everywhere, his entourage is 50 people + deep and everyone is rocking a TMT shirt/hats. Now, it makes sense that he has three enormous security guards protecting the champ.

We had a lot of great access and secured interviews with legends in the sport of boxing. From Sugar Shane Mosely and Adrien Broner to Zab Judah and Kid Chocolate. Kid Chocolate told us that he opened up his heart to us on camera, and those are the type of interviews that I love the most - genuine.

An interesting insight I took away from the trip was not that surprising. The Money Team is exclusively focused on business and Leonard Ellerbe structured a deal with Showtime that us unprecedented. The Money Team has a variety of revenue streams, from being the co-promoter of the fight (which entails ticket sales, merchandise from the venue, beers, hot dogs, nachos, etc.) all the way to event sponsorship sales, foreign TV sales and obviously PPV's - which Floyd comically calls it May Per Views.

Another interesting tid bit is how they manufacture the fighters to be a "star". No matter what, each fight he has, his opponent is built up as a serious contender that can POSSIBLY defeat the champ. Then, as we all know, he defeats his opponent. It is a genius marketing plan and obviously TV is still the most powerful medium out there. I wonder who is up next...to challenge the champ.

They started this marketing plan on HBO's hit show 24/7 and when Floyd got a more lucrative deal from Showtime the show is now called All Access. Each opponent on that show is showcased like they have a chance to beat the champ and a lot of people are rooting against Money Mayweather.

Floyd is portrayed as a villain through the media lens, but if you saw how many autographs he signed and how many pictures he took with fans, you'd be impressed with his personality. Imagine walking out of somewhere and getting mobbed, legitimately mobbed by people where you can't even get in your car. He deserves a little breathing space, but he also takes his time to say hello to the people who support his endeavors...I.E. purchase tickets, merchandise, etc.

Floyd has 4 more fights and The Weigh In plans on being there for the remainder of his contract with Showtime! 'Till next time Vegas!

All love,
Scott Emo

Some cool things that the camera may have not seen:
  • After Floyd's fight, we went to his mom's his were there was a celebration BBQ. We ate fried chicken, greens, macaroni, stuffing, cakes, pies and kicked it with a bunch of celebs!
  • Floyd pulled up to his gym around midnight and 2 minutes later a mobile car detailing company came by to detail his car while he was in the gym
  • My brother Tom joined us at Floyd's Mom's BBQ - ask him how it was
  • Special thank you to Bell Transportation for giving us limo rides to wherever we wanted to go
